Teaching Apprenticeships are a 12 month programme that allows a school to employee an apprentice who will undertake training that will lead to QTS. There is funding available to contribute towards the apprentice salary in some subjects (listed below) and schools can access the Apprentice Levy to fund the training element of the programme.
Funding is available for 21-22 to support a Teaching Apprentice in the following subjects:
Chemistry, Computing, Maths, Physics £15000
MFL and Classics £1000
There is no salary funding available for all other subjects but schools will still be able to access the Apprenticeship Levy to fund the training element which is currently £9000.
Apprenticeships can commence in Sept, Nov, Jan, April and June.
