The annual celebration of St James’s students’ sporting achievements is now in its 12th year and each year more and more students are reaching new highs in their chosen sports. The evening was held in the school sports hall with more than 450 students, parents, teachers and coaches present.
Individual and team awards were recognised at the presentation including teams and players of the year and sports boy and girl for each year group. Former Liverpool Football Club professional and England international Steve McMahon was the special suest and speaker for the evening, giving a very clear message that aspiring sporting stars should “practice, practice, practice”.
Miss Grange - Head of PE said “It has been a fantastic year of sport for the school and we are already looking forward to next year with many talented students expected to do well in their sports. The evening demonstrated the fantastic range of activities our students participate in, with awards in 20 different sports. The 10 students winning our main award of “sports boy and girls” were all worthy winners and have all been role models to others within the school regarding their ambition, dedication and talent.”
