Bury Church of England High School

We were delighted to join The Bishop Fraser Trust family of schools in January 2022 to enable us to flourish together as a group of Church schools that share a similar ethos.

The School motto of "let your light shine" underpins everything that we do.  We want all our young people and staff to flourish and grow their talents as unique and cherished individuals.  This is supported by our value of Believe, Achieve Inspire as we want our staff and students to grow in faith, achieve their goals and inspire others along their journey. 

We offer an extensive range of extra-curricular activities, including PE where we achieved the Gold Mark for School Games in 2022 and also Quality Mark Distinction level in PE and School Sport and Physical Activity in November 2022.  Other activities include the expressive Arts to board game clubs as we are committed to growing the hopes and dreams of all our young people.  We also offer the Archbishop of York Award, PIXL Edge Programme and Duke of Edinburgh to develop the character and citizenship of our young people, preparing them for life beyond the school.

Academically our attainment is significantly above National averages.  We offer pathways through our curriculum but remain ambitious for all learners in the school of all abilities and we work to ensure all children can reach their ambitions.

We are proud of our Christian Foundation which has served the Bury community since 1748.  We have close links with the Parish Church Bury and it is our expectations for all members of our school family to be fully supportive of our Christian values.
